Ingredients
- Thennai (Fox-tail Millet) - 50 gm
- Idly rice - 200 gm
- Mustard - 1 tsp
- Black Gram Dhal - 2 tsp
- Bengal Gram Dhal - 2 tsp
- Red chillie - 3 - 4
- Ginger Paste - 1/2 tsp
- curry leaves little
- Thin coconut flakes - 1/4 tsp
- Asafoetida powder - 1 pinch
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Soak millets and rice together in water.
- Grind it with sufficient salt.
- Add mustard, black and bengal gram dhal, scrapped ginger, curry leaves and asafoetida to the heated oil in a pan.
- Pour the ground batter in it and stir it well with coconut flakes till the mixture becomes thick like a ball.
- Make into small balls and steam cook it in idly pan.
