It is ideal for diabetic and heart patients, due to high protein and fibre. In addition, the presence of probiotics by fermentation which will increase good bacteria in gut and help in eliminating toxins from our body.But instead of groundnut chuttney take any green chuttney without coconut.
Ingredients
- Idly rice - 175 gm
- Barn yarn - 25 gm
- Black gram - 85 gm
- Salt - To taste
- Roasted ground nuts - 50g
- Fresh coconut - 1 piece
- Red chillie - 1-2
- Tamarind - little
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 tsp
- Black gram dhal - 1 tsp
- Curry leaves - little
Instructions
- Soak rice and barn yarn rice together and dhal separately.
- Grind the dhal finely and rice little coarsely.
- Add required salt to the batter and allow to ferment overnight.
- Next day prepare soft puffy idly.
For Chutney
- Grind nuts, coconut, chillie, tamarind, salt etc together.
- Then season with mustard, dhal and curry leaves.
- Mix it well and serve with hot soft idly.
- The combination of idly, chuttney and sambar will be delicious.
- Idly contains not only starch. It is rich in protein, fibre and vitamins because of dhal and barn yarn.
